APPLICANT SCREENING
Complete our online application form as well as submit several photos of yourself both as a child and now. Note that the pictures you submit will be the photos potential recipient couples view. Please take this into consideration when selecting the appropriate photos for submission.

When your application is submitted online, it will be reviewed to ensure you are an appropriate egg donor candidate. Someone from our staff will call you to schedule a phone interview in order to get to know you a little better and clarify anything on your online application. Your file will then be added to our egg donor database on the internet with non-identifying information for potential recipients to view.

MATCHING PROCESS
When a recipient couple chooses you as their potential egg donor, we will contact you to verify you are available. We will provide you with a letter from the couple introducing themselves to you and telling you a little about their lives, how they met, if they have any children, and what medical condition they suffer from that has resulted in them needing your help. At this time, we will also help in the process of establishing a legal agreement between you and your recipient couple. This contractual agreement outlines the responsibilities you hold as an egg donor and the responsibilities that the recipient couple assumes once they select you. We work with a number of attorneys throughout the United States and we will help you select an attorney to review your legal agreement with you. The financial burden of this legal review will be that of the recipient couple and we will pay your legal fee for you with funds deposited by the recipient couple.

After your legal agreement is signed, a variety of genetic, medical and psychological screenings will take place through the recipient couple's fertility clinic. You can expect that blood tests for both you and your partner (if any) will be performed to rule out such items as HIV, the virus causing AIDS, any sexually transmitted diseases, and Hepatitis B and C as well as any other medical tests the fertility clinic you will be working with requires. You will also have a Pap smear, routine lab tests including rubella, a complete blood count, liver function test, and both blood typing and Rh factor.

Establishment of a trust account with all funds necessary to complete the egg donation is essential before you begin your fertility medications. This includes your compensation to be disbursed within five days after retrieval as well as your travel, lodging and food stipend during the retrieval.

DONOR CYCLE PROCESS
The donor cycle process begins with synchronizing your cycle with that of your recipient. This is usually done by taking a birth control pill. You will then have your ovaries stimulated with a variety of fertility medications taken in the form of injection.

During this time, you will be scheduled doctor appointments where your ovaries will be monitored by ultrasound and blood will be drawn to monitor your estradiol and other hormone levels. Your fertility medication dosage will be adjusted based on these daily test results. When your follicles are mature based on ultrasound and blood tests, you will be directed to take a single injection of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This injection is timed so that you will have your egg retrieval 36 hours later.

Your retrieval will take place at the clinic that your recipient couple chooses. During the process of retrieval, an ultrasound-guided probe is used to navigate a small needle through the back of the wall within your vaginal canal and into each ovary. Each mature egg is then aspirated. The procedure takes between 20-30 minutes. Following the procedure, you may have discomfort which can be alleviated by over the counter pain reliever. You will also be given an antibiotic to ensure there is no resulting infection.

AFTERWARD
After the procedure, you will be financially compensated for your time and inconvenience. In many cases, you will also have the opportunity to schedule a follow up appointment at your monitoring clinic to verify that your ovaries appear normal. Shortly after the retrieval (14-18 days), you will be told whether a pregnancy was achieved as a result of your generous contribution.

HOW LONG DOES THE EGG DONATION PROCESS TAKE?

From the time an egg donor is matched with a recipient couple, the process typically takes somewhere between eight to ten weeks. This includes the time it takes to go through the screening process, as well as the synchronization phase where the egg donor and recipient mother's menses are synchronized by the use of birth control pills. The actual stimulation phase of the egg donation cycle is typically eight to ten days with egg retrieval being performed as an outpatient procedure at the fertility clinic, lasting approximately one half hour.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MY TRAVEL EXPENSES?

When required to travel away from home to attend an egg retrieval, our egg donors receive a generous travel stipend, including monies for food, airfare for two, hotel accommodations and ground transportation such as a taxi stipend or a car rental. At the end of the cycle, our egg donors will also be provided compensation for the time and effort put forth into the egg donation cycle, as well as the discomfort of attending local appointments. Compensation for our egg donors range between $5,000 to $10,000.
